Money Mindset: Living the Life YOU Want!

Are you living the life you truly want? If not, then why? A lot of people are not living a life they have dreamed of mostly because they aren’t willing to put in the work to get there. It can be challenging, scary, and uncertain which holds people back.

Living a life, you dream of does not have to be scary or a mystery of how to get there. There are a few things you can do to set yourself up for living the life you want.

“Define success on your own terms, achieve it by your own rules, and build a life you’re proud to live.” -Anne Sweeney

Take some time to think about and define what success really means to you. If you go around thinking and believing that success is what others think it is, you may never reach it. We all view success differently. It’s important to decide what that looks like for you and your life. Trying to achieve success based on what others believe will lead you to live a life that is not what you envisioned and going after things you don’t even want.

Once you have defined success for you, it’s time to set goals based on that definition. I love setting SMART goals when I do any sort of goal setting and planning. I know I have talked about them before, and I will continue to talk about them because it’s the best way to plan. Get SPECIFIC on what your goal truly is. The more specific the better. Determine the ways you will MEASURE or track your success. Is your goal realistic or ATTAINABLE? Make sure you have the tools and skills to attain the goal you’re setting. Your goal and the time frame you’re setting need to be REALISTIC to reaching. You won’t stay focused or motivated if you set an impossible goal. Be clear on the TIME frame you want to reach your goal by. This will help to keep you on track.

Now that you have a plan with clear goals and timelines, you need to put them into action and get to work, hard work. Be prepared that it will not always be easy. There will be challenges and setbacks but stick with it. Successful people don’t make excuses for failures or roadblocks. They push through all that. The longer you let excuses control you, the further your goals will slip away.

Allow yourself to evolve and act in a way that aligns with what you want. Define your own success, set goals, and get to work.
