We are going through a crazy time in the world right now. No matter where you are, you are experiencing some sort of lockdown or mandatory isolation/quarantine. For many of us, this is very difficult and for many different reasons. You may be experiencing a loss of income from a layoff or loss of a job, your mental health may be suffering and we are missing family and friends and the sense of normalcy.
I find working on your mindset around finances and life, in general, is essential in a situation like this. I have some affirmations that I love, and I wanted to share them with you.
I am happy with my accomplishment – Let’s be honest, some days we may feel our “accomplishments” are non-existent. But I’m here to tell you that getting through the day while going through all of this is an accomplishment. If you didn’t get any work done and instead spent the day painting or playing with your kids, be happy with that. If you spent the day on the couch resting, be happy with that. You don’t have to be working hard every moment to be happy with what you have accomplished. During this time, be happy with any and all accomplishments, no matter what they look like.
I manifest more money by being grateful for what I already have – If you have lost income over the last few weeks, it can feel impossible to feel grateful right now. It may be helpful to take a moment and write down all the things that you do have. This all will help shift your mindset from what you need or want to what you have. Many of us took for granted our lives before this pandemic. We always wanted more or something different. Taking the time to be appreciative of what we have will help to change our perspective of the things we actually “need”.
I am grateful for everything I receive – A phone call with a loved one, a surprise care package from a friend left at your door, a letter in the mail, extra time with your spouse and children and the time to prepare home-cooked meals. These are the things we can be grateful for. The moments and gestures that bring us happiness and love in a time of uncertainty.
I will spend money on things that support my goals – One positive out of all of this is that with most stores closed, we have the opportunity to really save money and create a budget that will support our goals. It will be easier to pass up take-out food and other unnecessary shopping. When you do spend money on things, ask yourself if what your spending money on will help to support your goals now and down the road.
Positive thinking and thoughts are so beneficial for our mental health. At a time where we need positivity more than ever, it’s important to take care of your thoughts. I hope that when you feel stressed, anxious or sad, you can turn to these affirmations and they bring you comfort and thoughts of happiness, and calm.
